One of the larger species of knifefish, the Clown Knife is found throughout much of Southeast Asia, where it is an important food fish. It is now extensively farm raised for food and for the aquarium trade. A predatory species with a surprisingly large mouth, Clown Knives can easily eat fish up to 1/3rd their size in many cases. Despite their predatory nature, they are peaceful towards nearly all tankmates too big to be eaten.

With distinctive golden coloration and a much smaller adult size than other peacock bass of the genus Cichla, the Kelberi is among the most popular of these large predatory cichlids in the aquarium hobby. Originating from the rivers of Southeastern Brazil (including the Tocantins), these fish are popular food and sport fish in their native range. Like all peacock bass, Cichla kelberi requires a very large aquarium and should only be kept by experienced hobbyists. They are powerful predators, and will eat any fish that can fit in their large mouths, so tankmates should be chosen with care.

An aquarium hobby classic, the common Angel (Pterophyllum scalare) has been selectively bred into many different color forms and variants over the years. As a vertically-oriented species, they do best in a large, tall, planted aquarium with plenty of cover. Although peaceful when young, they can be moderately aggressive towards one another as adults but generally do well in a large enough group, usually 5 or more. Most other non-cichlid tankmates will be left alone but they will hunt and eat very small fish or invertebrates. Angels are somewhat sensitive to water quality so care should be taken to avoid large fluctuations in water conditions and partial water changes should be performed regularly. Our assortment includes a variety of popular strains, such as black, marble, silver, zebra, platinum, koi, blushing, and others.

Contrary to popular belief, Betta antuta reside in flowing highland streams in the wild rather than swamps or other lowland waters that many other Betta species inhabit. These fish will appreciate an aquarium that has been decorated with plants, driftwood, and leaf litter. Since these fish can jump quite well, a tight-fitting cover is advised. They are not fussy eaters, much like most bettas, and will take most dried foods; nevertheless, a diverse diet that includes some frozen foods is advised.

With its combination of deep green body coloration and a distinctive orange stripe, the Eques Cory is a sought after species in the aquarium hobby. Although similar species have occasionally been sold (incorrectly) as C. eques, the True Eques Cory is found only in Amazonas State, Brazil, and is uncommonly imported. Similar to most species of Cory Catfish, the Eques Cory should be kept in groups (ideally 5 or more) and prefers a substrate of fine sand. Due to their larger adult size they make an attractive showpiece fish for a medium to large community aquarium and will do well with nearly any peaceful tankmates.

The Orange Laser or Orange Stripe Cory is one of the most vividly colored fish in its genus, with an unmistakable fluorescent orange stripe arching across its back. Known from the Ucayali and Maranon rivers in Peru, two headwaters of the Amazon, it is unknown what purpose this unusually bright streak of color serves in the wild but in the aquarium it makes for a remarkable display. Like most Corydoras they are active, peaceful schooling fish that will display their best colors and behaviors in a larger group.

The Red Lip Nerite Snail is a distinctly colored snail in the genus Neritina which is found in a wide range of brackish to pure freshwater habitats in Indonesia and the Indo-Pacific. Like most Nerite snails, they are extremely popular in the aquarium hobby due to their voracious appetite for nuisance algae, including diatoms and filamentous algae. They are plant safe and great addition to any freshwater aquarium, paludarium, or aquascaped/planted tank. These snails can not reproduce successfully without brackish water and therefore will not overpopulate the aquarium.
