Rare, distinctive, and one of the more sought after South American Cichlids, the Panda Uaru owes its name to the high contrast black and white pattern adult fish display. These fish are found in blackwater habitat in the upper Atabapo in Colombia and Venezuela , and will do best in an aquarium which replicates their native habitat – low pH, soft water, and warm temperatures. Similar to wild Discus or Angelfish, Panda Uaru are best kept in a group of 5 or more.

Compatibility: Fairly peaceful for a cichlid, but can still be aggressive or territorial.
