The African Dwarf Pike Characin (Phago loricatus) is indigenous to the Nigerian River region of West Africa. The primary diet of these imported fish is live food; in the wild, they hunt by darting between weeds and clipping off chunks of larger fish’s fins. In captivity, they are best kept alone or in species-exclusive aquariums, reaching an adult size of 6 to 8 inches in length.
