A beautiful dwarf cichlid, the popular Three Stripe Apisto (Apistogramma trifasciata) is a peaceful and active fish is found in the southern Amazon basin of Brazil and Paraguay. A hardy and undemanding species, males will develop a vivid blue body and red highlights on the dorsal fins when mature.
