Tahitian Prawn (Macrobrachium cf. lar)

$69.99

The Tahitian Prawn (Macrobrachium cf. lar) is a freshwater shrimp native to the Indo-West Pacific. They are a unique aquarium addition, as they are an uncommon invertebrate in the freshwater hobby. They most often spend their larval stage in brackish or salty water, but are freshwater species as adults. Growing 7 inches long or larger, these shrimp will do best in tanks of 20 gallons or more. Make sure to research your tankmates, as Tahitian Prawns are likely to prey on smaller fish or fight with similar invertebrate tankmates!
