Smudge Spot Cory (Hoplisoma similis)

The Smudge Spot or Similis Cory is a strikingly marked, medium growing species found in the Maderia and Purus basins in Brazil, where it inhabits shallow sandy creeks and streams characterized by soft, clear water. Like most Corys, they are peaceful, hardy, and best kept in groups due to their schooling nature. This species is particularly sensitive to water quality and frequent large water changes should be considered essential for long term success.
