The Purple Tetra or Purple Rio Meta Tetra (Hyphessobrycon metae) is native to the blackwater tributaries of the Orinoco in Colombia and Venezuela. This small tetra will thrive in a planted or blackwater setup with leaf litter. Like most small tetras, they will do best in groups of 5 or more.
