Indian Striped Peacock Eel (Macrognathus aral)


The Indian Striped Peacock Eel (Macrognathus aral), also known as the one-stripe spiny eel, is member of the unique and sought-after spiny eel group. Growing up to 24 inches long, these formidable fish are native to fresh and brackish waters of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other surrounding countries. The predatory Indian Striped Peacock Eel is generally peaceful towards tankmates with similar temperaments that are large enough to not be considered a meal.

Compatibility: Generally not aggressive towards tankmates too big to be considered a meal. Should not be kept with overly aggressive fish which may nip at their fins or that may outcompete them for food.
