Gold Spot Caqueta Pike Cichlid (Crenicichla cf. anthurum ‘Caqueta’)

A rarely seen Pike Cichlid from the fast moving tributaries of Colombia’s Rio Caqueta, this Pike is in the so-called “saxatilis group” of the genus Crenicichla which are found throughout the Amazon Basin. Like most cichlids in this group, they display attractive gold spotting which intensifies as they grow. These are a medium sized and extremely hardy Pike Cichlid and usually do well in a cichlid community with other South and Central American cichlids.
