Dwarf Centipede Knifefish (Hypopygus cf. lepturus)

$14.99

The Dwarf Centipede or Pygmy Centipede Knifefish (Hypopygus cf. lepturus) is commonly found throughout the Orinoco and Amazon river basins. However, these were collected from the Nanay of Peru. They are a shy fish, but seem to adapt well to an aquarium with lots of cover, including leaf litter and woods with subdued lighting. When offering food, they will accept frozen baby brine shrimp and rotifers. A social species, they are best kept in groups in the aquarium.
