Candidia barbata

A stream-dwelling cyprinid found in the shallow, rocky waters of Taiwan, Candidia barbata is a unique and rarely seen schooling fish. Adults male develop spawning tubercles on their face and have a red patch on their lower operculum. They prefer slightly cooler, well-oxygenated water and are very active in the aquarium.
