A beautiful dwarf cichlid, the popular Apistogramma macmasteri is a peaceful and active fish is found in blackwater creeks and extreme shallow waters throughout the Llanos of South America. A hardy and undemanding species, males will develop vivid red and yellow patches on the ventral and caudal fins when mature.
