The Melanistius Cory (Hoplisoma melanistium) originates from the Essequibo River in Guyana. This medium sized Cory Cat prefers soft fine substrate and plenty of cover. Like most Corys, they are peaceful, hardy, and best kept in groups of 5 or more due to their schooling nature. An excellent community aquarium fish, they will do well with nearly any non-aggressive tankmates.

The Highfin Spotted Cory (Hoplisoma sp. “CW027”), the C154 cory, or the Wotroi cory is a larger species of corydoras, growing up to 2.25 inches! They are native to freshwaters of South America. Like other species of corydoras, the Highfin Spotted Cory has a heavily armored body and protective spines on their fins. These fish have striking black stripes on their face, transitioning into defined spots on the rest of their body. Highfin Spotted Cories are peaceful fish that will do best in groups, spending most of their time close to the substrate scavenging for food.
