Longfin Banded Hill Trout

A stream-dwelling cyprinid found in the shallow, rocky waters of China and Taiwan, the Longfin Banded Hill Trout is a unique and rarely seen schooling fish. Adults develop elongated fins and vibrant yellow and blue coloration, making them an attractive dither fish for medium to large cichlids or as centerpiece fish for a planted aquarium. They prefer slightly cooler, well-oxygenated water and enjoy moderate to strong current in the aquarium, so the addition of one or more powerheads or circulation pumps is recommended.
