A unique armored catfish and a favorite in the aquarium hobby for decades, the flagtail porthole catfish is distinguished by its unique black and white barred tail and spotted pattern. In the wild, it is found in shallow waters throughout much of the Amazon Basin. Peaceful, active, and social, they are best kept in small groups in the aquarium and will get along well with most similarly-sized tankmates.
