Price range: $39.99 through $59.99Originating in Africa from the Nile system and Lake Victoria, the Electric Catfish (Malapterurus electricus) prefers slow-moving or still water where it hides under rocks and roots and hunts with its electric organ. The shock that this catfish produces can range from 300 to 400V as adults. It happily consumes most items in captivity including pellets. Due to its electrifying personality, it is not compatible with most fish. Be sure to provide plenty of hiding places and deep substrate because this animal is known to burrow in the wild.
