Barred Pencilfish (Nannostomus espei)
$34.99The Barred Pencilfish or Espei Pencilfish (Nannostomus espei) has been largely absent from the hobby since around 2010. Originating only from the soft, acidic waters of the Mazurini River, a tributary of the Essequibo River drainage, these schooling fish are best kept in groups of 5 or more. In the aquarium, they will appreciate lots of cover from vegetation, hardscape and leaf litter. Personality wise, they can be timid so keeping them with small mellow inhabitants is best.
