The Red Claw River Shrimp (Macrobrachium assamense ‘Red Claw’) are a unique and relatively rare species in the aquarium trade. Growing up to 6 inches long, they are significantly larger than many of the dwarf shrimp species popular in the hobby! They are recognizable by their transparent, brown, or blue-tinted bodies with impressive large red claws. Please keep in mind that they are a semi-aggressive species and may feed or fight with smaller invertebrates and fish.
