The Coral Beauty Angelfish (Centropyge bispinosus), known for its vibrant orange and purple coloration is one of many dwarf angelfish species available in hobby. In the wild Koran Angelfish (Pomacanthus semiciculatus) consume a diet based on algae, tunicates, and sponges. However, they will accept any frozen and pellet foods provided in the aquarium. Koran Angelfish should be kept alone without any other angelfish in a tank that is at least 250 gallons with lots of live rock for hiding and browsing on. Unfortunately, because they tend to nip at both rocky and soft corals, these fish are not a suitable fit for a reef aquarium. These angelfish can be a wonderful addition to a saltwater fish tank and even hold their own with semi-aggressive species like larger tangs, puffers, and triggers.

Native to the Indian and Pacific Oceans, the Longnose Butterflyfish (Forcipiger flavissimus), or the Forceps Fish, is a peaceful and colorful choice. Growing up to 9 inches/23 cm, this fish does best in a larger, fish-only tank. They use their uniquely long snout as a pair feeding forceps to get between coral heads and into nooks and crannies!
Native to the seas surrounding Indonesia, the Regal Angelfish (Pygoplites diacanthus) is a highly desired fish for experienced aquarists. These strikingly colored fish grow up to 10 inches/25.4 cm and will do best in a large aquarium with many hiding places and grazing surfaces. Despite their size, their temperament is shy and thus should not be housed with aggressive tankmates. In fact, they’ll thrive best as the biggest fish in the tank!
With striking copper stripes, a false eyespot, and an elegant nose, the Copperband Butterfly (Chelmon rostratus) is an attractive and unique choice for the experienced saltwater hobbyist with an established tank. In the Indo-Pacific, they tend to be solitary or in proven pairs. These delicate fish are not considered reef-safe, as they are active foragers often on the hunt for creatures such as feather dusters and coco worms. However, the Copperband Butterfly is also known to eat pesty aiptasia!
