Flame Crested Gecko (Correlophus ciliatus)

Native to the island of New Caledonia and commonly bred in captivity, Crested Geckos (Correlophus ciliatus) are a popular pet among reptile enthusiasts. Their name refers to the “crests” of hair-like scales running from the sides of their head down their back. These lizards are relatively simple to care for, peaceful, and easy to handle. The Flame morph refers to the high contrast between the lizard’s colors, most often variations of red, orange, and yellow. Multiple female geckos can cohabitate, but be aware that male geckos will be territorial towards each other.
